Which motorcycle licence categories can you get?
At Safety1st you get an A licence, which lets you ride any motorcycle. We do not offer the lighter A1 and A2 categories.
Are the exams included in the package?
Yes. The motorcycle package includes the vehicle control exam (AVB) and the on-road exam (AVD), with the instructor.
Where does the lesson start?
Motorcycle lessons start at our place at Aronskelk 2 in Elsloo: you come to us and get on the motorcycle there.
How does the motorcycle exam work?
AVB – vehicle control
On the CBR exam grounds you ride 7 exercises. The examiner checks that you control the motorcycle at low and high speed, and that you brake correctly.
You must have passed the motorcycle theory exam in the last eighteen months, or already hold a valid car or motorcycle licence.
AVD – on-road riding
After the AVB you ride in traffic. The examiner follows you in their own car and tells you what to do through a small receiver in your helmet. They watch how you look around, your position on the road, the traffic rules and how you handle the motorcycle in traffic.
You must have passed the AVB in the last year.
Practical preparation for both exams
At Safety1st we prepare you specifically for the AVB and the AVD. You practise the AVB exercises and ride in a range of traffic situations, from beginner to exam-ready.

Questions
Which motorcycle licence can I get?
With us you get an A licence, which lets you ride any motorcycle; we do not offer A1 or A2. The motorcycle exam has two parts: vehicle control (AVB) and on-road riding (AVD). Both exams are included in the motorcycle package.
From what age can I take motorcycle lessons?
For a heavy motorcycle (an A licence), the licence you get with us, the CBR says you can start motorcycle lessons from the age of 21, and you can take the motorcycle exam from 21 too. What suits your age and experience is explained by the CBR.
How much is a trial lesson?
A trial lesson costs €50. You pick a time from the available slots and pay for the lesson.
